Sutra is 30" x 40" Oil on Canvas $ Please Inquire This is the first painting in a new series of religious works originally inspired by my Bo Tree. The Bo Tree, or Bodhi Tree, is the tree under which Buddha meditated in order to reach enlightenment. I have had a Bo Tree for several years now, taking it into my home when it was few leaved and small. It has grown and will continue for 500 years or more. One day as I was watching the dancing shadows cast by my Bo Tree onto a blank canvas I conceived of an idea for a series of paintings. This is a series of paintings depicting the great religious books of various faiths as flora. This first one then, based on my Bo Tree is for Buddhism, Sutra.
